Botanical Tour to Singapore & Thailand

Twelve day tour to Singapore and Thailand. 


This includes visiting Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Garden and Orchid House and a full day walking tour of Singapore.

In Thailand the first stop is at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Pattaya. In Bankok a visit is made to the Pakklong Flower Market. 

Later a dinner while  cruising along the Chaophraya River for sights of the Temple of Dawn, the Grand Palace and  the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Next, Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai, followed by a visit to the Grand Palace and the Golden Buddha

Day 1:

Fly Singapore Airlines to Singapore.

Day 2:

Arrive in Singapore and Transfer to the Orchard Hotel. I will try for an early check in but normally it is a 2PM check in. If we get an early check in then we can drop our bags, have a shower and do a hop on hop off bus tour of Singapore to give you a feel of Singapore. Singapore is a walking city so let’s spend time walking and seeing the sites of Singapore away from the City Centre. Dinner.


Day 3:

 Breakfast at Hotel.

Early morning visit to Gardens by the Bay before the crowds arrive. We will have a personalised tour by one of the experts from Gardens by the Bay which will take most of the day. Lunch in the gardens. Afternoon free. Evening visit to Gardens by the Bay for light show. Dinner at Gardens by the Bay. Orchard Hotel

Day 4:

Visit the Singapore Botanical Garden and Orchid House. Established by the British in 1859 this is the greatest tropical Botanical Garden in the world. It is also a walking garden and not far from the Hotel so let spend the day and enjoy this magnificent garden. Lunch in the gardens. Afternoon at Leisure.

Before sunset we will travel to the Marina Bay Sands hotel and take the lift to the viewing deck for an evening with cocktails overlooking Gardens by the Bay and views of Singapore. Orchard Hotel


Day 5:

Full day walking tour of Singapore. This will include a visit to Chinatown, little India, Malay quarter at Haji Lane and Marina Bay. Walk along Orchard road or take in a Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel. As mentioned Singapore is a walking City so let’s walk and see the City.


Day 6:

This morning we will wake early and take a local bus to the western side of Singapore for a walk over the southern ridge to Mount Faber and finally down to Harbour Front, Keppel Bay and Labrador Park. Singapore has some of the best open space systems in the world.


Day 7:

Spend the morning relaxing in Singapore. Afternoon transfer to Changi airport for flight to Bangkok. SQ974 at 13h10 arriving at 14h35. Transfer to Nong Nooch Bot Gdns in Pattaya for 2 nights.

Dinner in fish restaurant on the sea.

Day 8:

Breakfast will be served at the garden.

After breakfast we will take a tour of one of the biggest and most beautiful tropical botanical gardens in Southeast Asia, just 15 minutes east of Pattaya. Nong Nooch Tropical Garden has emerged as a fascinating tourist destination renowned for its wide-ranging orchid species, palm, cycad, cactus, bromeliad and bonsai gardens and countless flowers and plants from all corners of the world. Authentic Thai houses, mini zoo and cultural performances with classical dancers, traditional ceremonies, Thai boxing etc. and spectacular Elephant show are the highlights of your visit. Lunch served down at the beach.


Day 9:

Breakfast will be served at the garden. We can take a walk in the garden before being transferred to the Chatrium Hotel in Bangkok.

Day 10:

Breakfast in hotel

08:00 hrs. In the morning visit at Pakklong Flower Market. The colorful flowers and bustling atmosphere are an essential part of the inordinate charm of this particular market. Here you will see a variety of flowers never seen before.

After the flower market we will take a taxi to visit Jim Thompson’s house. He was responsible for the revival of Thai silk which changes the industry forever. He dissappeared a number of years ago in the Malaysian jungle, never to be seen again. He left a legacy which is reflected through his vast collections of Thai art and antiques now on display at the Jim Thompson’s house and museum, itself a lovely complex of six Thai-style teakwood houses preserve to their original glory.

Afternoon for shopping and lunch at a large departmental store or to have the afternoon to relax by the hotel pool.

We will be picked up at 18h30 to enjoy a Thai & International buffet dinner while you cruise along the Chaophraya River and enjoy beautiful night scenery on both side of the river. The Grand Pearl Cruise will be passing by two most wonderful night in Bangkok,the Wat Arun – The Temple of dawn and the Grand Palace and the Wat Prakae, The temple of Emerald Buddha. Day 11:

Full day tour of Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai. Located about 130km west of Bangkok this area gained fame during world War 11 when allied POW’S built this railway line to link Thailand with Burma. It was called the “Death Railway” as so many allied soldiers died under terrible living and working conditions. We will take a boat trip along the river, walk across the famous bridge and take a train trip along the river and original train route before relaxing for lunch. It is a lovely part of Thailand that will be fun to see other parts of the country. Also in this area are temples, caves, waterfalls and the remnants of a 13th century Khmer palace. Return to Bangkok. Dinner in the hotel. Chatrium Hotel


Day 12:

After breakfast we visit the residence of the Kings of Thailand, the Grand Palace is one of the most beautiful samples of an ancient Siamese court. Here you will see many palaces which have been used for different occasions: the Funeral Palace, the Reception Palace, the Throne Hall, the Coronation Hall, the Royal Guest House, and Wat Phra Keo, the beautiful Emerald Buddha Temple.  Visit Wat Tramit, the beautiful 5 ton golden Buddha, Wat Pho, the largest reclining Buddha.

Transfer to Bangkok Airport to fly to Singapore. SQ 981 BKKSIN 21H10  00H40

Depart Johannesburg on SA 539 at 8h45 and arrive in Durban at 9H50
